VfB Stuttgart have scheduled a friendly against SpVgg Greuther Fürth for the first international break of the 2026/27 season. The club confirmed the match will kick off at 17:30 CEST on Thursday, 1 October, at the WIRmachenDRUCK Arena in Aspach.

When and where is the match being played

Fürth are not the only friendly opponent in this window. VfB Stuttgart have arranged two warm-up games during the break.

Six days earlier, on Friday, 25 September, VfB Stuttgart host 1. FC Heidenheim at the Stadion Benzach in Weinstadt, with kickoff set for 16:30 CEST.

What Hoeneß says about the schedule

"VfB Stuttgart have organised another friendly for the first international break of the 2026/27 season," said head coach Sebastian Hoeneß, according to VfB Stuttgart.

Both games are meant to give the squad a chance to take stock away from league matches, with nothing on the line in the standings.

Where VfB Stuttgart stand right now

In the Bundesliga, VfB Stuttgart sit 9th with 3 points from two games, having scored 5 goals and conceded 6. They already trail leaders FC Augsburg by 3 points.

Ahead of the away trip to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on 12 September, the club is missing five players: Dan Zagadou, Dennis Seimen, Lorenz Assignon, Luca Jaquez and Tiago Tomás. Who is available for the friendlies will depend partly on how the injuries list develops, while the current standings show the league table this break offers a brief escape from, and the full squad page lists every player in contention.
