VfB Stuttgart's Atakan Karazor is facing an uncertain future. Trainer Sebastian Hoeneß has left the question of the new team captain open. Karazor, 29, must fight for his place in the team. In the past two seasons, he was captain of the Schwaben and a key player in the defensive midfield. Now, his situation could change. With Grischa Prömel, the Stuttgarter have signed an experienced midfielder who can also play on the six-position. The new signing brings its own leadership claims. This could lead to Karazor losing his importance in two ways: both the captain's armband and his starting position are no longer secure. A scenario that inevitably fuels speculation about a possible departure. In line with this, there are now concrete transfer rumors from Turkey. According to information from the well-connected journalist Hasan Tüncel, there has already been an exchange between the Turkish top club and Karazor. A transfer may be difficult, but it is by no means ruled out. Trabzonspor could thus be an option for the midfielder if his situation at VfB Stuttgart were to deteriorate. A departure would, however, not be without further ado. Karazor still has a contract with Stuttgart until 2028. The VfB would then have the upper hand in the event of a sale and could demand a corresponding transfer fee. Little, however, suggests an imminent transfer. The BILD had recently reported that Karazor would fight for his place at VfB and try to hold on to his position. His long contract also speaks in favor of Stuttgart not being under pressure to sell. It will be decisive which role Hoeneß assigns to his experienced midfielder in the new season. If Karazor continues to play regularly, the topic of Trabzonspor could quickly become a thing of the past. If he loses his starting position and possibly also the captain's armband, the situation could gain new dynamics. It is clear: The coming weeks will show whether Karazor is indeed facing a departure from Stuttgart – or if he will once again assert himself as a leader at VfB.
