Josha Vagnoman has been nominated for the Bundesliga's Goal of the Month award for September. The VfB Stuttgart defender scored a spectacular 22-metre volley in added time to seal a 4-1 home win over 1. FC Köln on 4 September.

The league shortlisted the 25-year-old full-back's strike. "The VfB Stuttgart defender has been included in the selection for the Bundesliga's Top Goal of the Month for September with his volley against 1. FC Köln," was stated. Voting remains open until 4 October at 23:59 CEST via the official Bundesliga app. Nine other goals from September are also in contention.

The strike was Vagnoman's second goal of the season in his fourth appearance. He is currently VfB's top scorer in this Bundesliga campaign. Sebastian Hoeneß's team sits 15th in the table with three points from four matches. The full standings show the gap to the leading sides. Following the recent 3-0 home win over Heidenheim, the next fixture is away to SC Paderborn on 10 October, with the upcoming schedule available on the fixtures page.

The volley originated from a Ramon Hendriks throw-in that the Cologne defence cleared poorly. Vagnoman took the deflected ball first-time out of the air and fired an unstoppable shot. The defensive player's moment of individual brilliance provided the perfect finish to the home game at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
