VfB Stuttgart fears for Dan-Axel Zagadou after new injury VfB Stuttgart suffered a major setback in their friendly against Everton (3:1). Defender Dan-Axel Zagadou had to be subbed off in the first half (33') with thigh problems. The Frenchman injured himself awkwardly in the 27th minute while clearing the ball. ## What happened? Zagadou cleared the ball from the box when he landed awkwardly on his right leg. He immediately grabbed his thigh and collapsed in pain. After treatment, he tried to continue but was eventually subbed off. He limped into the dressing room with a thick bandage. ## Why is this so bad for Stuttgart? Zagadou is Stuttgart's biggest injury-prone player. In the last two years, he only played 238 minutes in the Bundesliga. Coach Sebastian Hoeneß said: „It's muscular. Taking him off was a precaution.“ Stuttgart finished last season in 4th place with 62 points (18W-8D-8L). ## What's next? The exact diagnosis is still pending but expected by Monday afternoon. Teammate Ramon Hendriks said: „Daxo is an important player for us. Hopefully it's nothing serious.“ Stuttgart remains without further defensive injuries ahead of the season – alongside Zagadou, Dennis Seimen and Lorenz Assignon are sidelined.
