VfB Stuttgart has signed Dzenan Pejcinovic from Wolfsburg for €25 million. The 21-year-old striker is set to strengthen the attack after Nick Woltemade's departure to Newcastle United in summer 2025. With Pejcinovic, VfB aims to fill the gap left by Woltemade's transfer.

Why Pejcinovic is the right fit

The German U-21 international (seven caps, two goals) arrives with a strong record from Wolfsburg, scoring nine Bundesliga goals last season. Standing at 1.90 meters, he adds crucial aerial presence to Stuttgart's attack. Pejcinovic is the club's second-most expensive signing after Deniz Undav (€26.7M in 2024).

How Pejcinovic fits into Stuttgart's offense

Pejcinovic is expected to play as a classic target man, complementing the technical skills of Deniz Undav and the physicality of Ermedin Demirovic. VfB Stuttgart, who finished third last season with 56 points, aims to strengthen their squad for three competitions.

What Pejcinovic means for the future

The transfer signals VfB's intent to improve ball retention after Serhou Guirassy's departure in summer 2024. Pejcinovic could also feature in the German national team. His debut for VfB is yet to be scheduled as the new season has not started.
