VfB Stuttgart interested in Leo Sauer
VfB Stuttgart has set its sights on 20-year-old striker Leo Sauer from Feyenoord Rotterdam. The Slovakian, who is under contract in the Netherlands until 2028, could move for a €7 million transfer fee. However, as with Nathan De Cat, TSG Hoffenheim may again pose competition for the winger.
Why Sauer is interesting for Stuttgart
With a healthy mix of pace and ball control, Sauer could be a welcome addition to Stuttgart's offense. On the left wing, he could provide competition for Chris Führich, who is no longer the youngest. Diehl, the only other true left winger, is permanently injured and not suitable for the first team.
Competition from Hoffenheim
Hoffenheim had already beaten Stuttgart to Nathan De Cat. Now the scenario could repeat itself. While Sauer would not be a direct alternative to Pejcinovic, he would be a sensible addition. The €7 million transfer fee is manageable for a talent like Sauer.
What's next?
VfB Stuttgart is currently in 4th place in the Bundesliga with 0 points (0 goals scored, 0 conceded). The next match is on February 20, 2027, against SC Paderborn 07 (18th in the table). Whether Sauer will be part of the squad by then remains to be seen.
