Stuttgart - BILD exclusively reported on VfB's interest in Leo Sauer (20) last Sunday. Now an agreement has been reached with the winger from Feyenoord Rotterdam. The transfer fee for Sauer is €12.5 million. Voetball International was the first to report this news. At VfB, the dribbler will sign a contract until 2031 and is expected to undergo a medical check in Stuttgart soon.
In pursuing Sauer, VfB has also competed against TSG Hoffenheim and Benfica Lisbon. In the previous season, the Slovakian played 20 Eredivisie matches with three goals and two assists, scoring once in six Europa League games. At 1.84 meters tall, the left-winger is physically strong and extremely good at dribbling. This profile has convinced the VfB management.
In Germany, Sauer made headlines with his performance during Slovakia's 2:0 victory over the DFB team in Bratislava on September 30th. Now this powerful winger will join the Bundesliga!
Also Pejčinović is Coming?
Sauer is VfB's second external signing of the summer after Grischa Prömel (31), who came to VfB from TSG Hoffenheim without a transfer fee. And he won't be the last! In pursuing VfL Klinzinger Dženan Pejčinović (21), VfB is still putting full effort into negotiations, which are proving difficult. While VfB is now willing to increase its offer in the overall package to €22 million, the Wolves are demanding at least €25 million (BILD reported). Whether Pejčinović will follow Sauer to Stuttgart remains to be seen....
