VfB Stuttgart unveils new home kit with regional motifs

VfB Stuttgart has revealed its new home kit for the 2026/27 season, featuring Bad-Cannstatt-inspired designs that have sparked debate among fans. The kit includes motifs like the Klösterlebrunnen, Hirschstangen, and Rössle. The team currently sits 4th in the Bundesliga with 62 points from 34 games (18 wins, 8 draws, 8 losses).

What’s new in the design?

Developed with supplier Jako, the kit pays homage to Bad Cannstatt’s cultural roots. Standout features include embossed motifs inspired by the Cannstatter Klösterlebrunnen, extended sleeve coloring reminiscent of local mineral water, and a larger stitched VfB badge. The back of the neck features a historic depiction of the „Cannstatter Kanne.“

Why is the kit controversial?

„This is the first kit in a long time to polarize fans on social media,“ says Jako’s Tobias Röschl. „But polarizing designs often perform best commercially.“ Opinions are divided-some appreciate the regional tribute, while others find the motifs too bold. The team, coming off two straight losses (form: LLDDW), will face Paris FC on August 1.

What does VfB say about the changes?

Chairman Alexander Wehrle states: „Our new kits uniquely honor our Bad Cannstatt heritage, blending tradition with modern design.“ Pre-season training starts July 16, with the first friendly against TSG Balingen on July 19.
