VfB Stuttgart and sports equipment manufacturer JAKO from Mulfingen are warning against counterfeit jerseys. The club and the manufacturer have taken joint measures to prevent the sale of counterfeits. Jonas Limbach from JAKO's sales department explains that the goods often come from Asia and the annual damage to the company is difficult to quantify. For VfB Stuttgart, the currently embossed Cannstatter Treppen or the logo with relief on the chest are important indicators of originals. JAKO also uses a security label that shimmers differently in the light at the bottom of the shirt. The genuine jerseys are also of higher quality, such as the stretch collar and the embroidered logo on the back of the neck. VfB Stuttgart has such a collar and an embroidered logo. The consumer center warns against counterfeits, which not only harm manufacturers but are also often of poor quality and can be contaminated with harmful substances in the worst case. The consumer advocates also warn against fake shops that advertise with original images of the jerseys but do not deliver anything after receiving the money. An indication of this is usually the requirement for prepayment. VfB Stuttgart fans should therefore always shop in the official fan shops to ensure they buy originals. Other clubs like Mainz 05 and the Iraqi team at the World Cup are also equipped by JAKO. The company regularly reports to the customs authorities when shipments with counterfeit jerseys are discovered. VfB Stuttgart and JAKO are working closely together to prevent the sale of counterfeits and protect fans from counterfeits. This way, fans can ensure they buy genuine jerseys and do not fall for counterfeits.
