Four VfB Stuttgart players are in line for a call-up to Jürgen Klopp's Germany squad. The expected nominations for the upcoming international break include defenders Finn Jeltsch and Josha Vagnoman along with attacking players Chris Führich and Maximilian Mittelstädt.

Klopp, who was in Stuttgart earlier this month to watch the 4-1 win over Köln, is beginning his tenure as national team coach with an expanded evaluation process. The new manager is reportedly considering a larger squad than usual to assess more players during the short break. This approach now benefits several VfB professionals.

The players in line

The 20-year-old Finn Jeltsch has established himself as an important part of Stuttgart's central defence over the past season. Josha Vagnoman brings versatility on the right flank along with previous experience in the national team setup. Maximilian Mittelstädt offers an established option at left-back, while Chris Führich provides a different attacking dimension with his dribbling ability and already has senior caps.

The potential four call-ups are a clear signal for VfB's successful youth development. They demonstrate that the club, under the sporting direction of Sebastian Hoeneß, is producing players of national team calibre. Currently, the team sits 14th in the Bundesliga with three points from three matches. The next challenge comes on Saturday with a home game against second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

Notable omissions

Despite his goal threat, striker Deniz Undav is not in the expanded group. Jamie Leweling, long considered a mainstay for the national team, also apparently did not receive an invitation this time. Midfielder Angelo Stiller is ruled out due to a bone bruise on his knee sustained in the match against Hoffenheim. The 2-1 defeat in Sinsheim was the most recent loss in a mixed run of three wins and two defeats from the last five games.

The expected call-ups are an important validation of VfB Stuttgart's current path. They come at a time when the team, after a poor start to the season with just one win from three league games, urgently needs positive momentum. Josha Vagnoman, who is currently the team's top scorer this season with two goals, could now shows his form in the Germany shirt. The official squad announcement is expected in the coming days.
